The female nude is of classical interest for any studying and practicing artist and it is no surprise Seán created a few. This however was not a main interest as a subject, and in correlation the sytle of his nudes are more realistic than most of his creations.
The figurative was a main interest in his study as he portrayed not only characters but depicted stories both of real people and of religious tales. Here Seán was more abstract in his approach as he didn't strive to achieve detail, but to present a universal illustration of every man/ women.
The pieces of utmost importance were his religiously inspired works and commisions for Christian churches. "The Stations of the Cross" is his most established series of sculptures, both in skill first also in relevance to his heart.
Animals were also a challenge for Seán, looking at the most magnificent of species, horses and birds are most common. He achieved lightness in his feathered metal birds and strength and beauty in his horses. A genius of his techniques.
